FOREST OAKS, N.C. – The Notre Dame men’s golf team shot an opening round 302 on Saturday morning and followed with a second round 289 in the afternoon to turn in a 15-over par 591 day one of the UNCG Bridgestone Collegiate. Through two rounds of play at the Forest Oaks Country Club, Max Scodro leads the Irish with a minus-two 142 mark.

Scodro shot a one-over par 73 in the morning session and then fired a 69 in the afternoon. His three-under par second round included five birdies and he is tied for 18th entering the final round of play.

After shooting an eight -over par 80 in the first round, Josh Sandman carded a two-under par 70 in the second round for a plus-six 150 mark. His second round included six birdies. Sandman, who had both his rounds counted towards Notre Dame’s team score, is tied for 55th.

Jeff Chen also had both of his rounds counted as he turned in a 75 and a 76 for as 151 mark, tying him for 64th. Connor Alan-Lee was a stroke behind Chen as he carded a 74 and a 78 for a 152 total. His 74 was counted towards Notre Dame’s team score.

Chris Walker rounded out the Irish contingent with an 83 and a 74 for a 157 total. His afternoon 74 was counted towards Notre Dame’s team score and included two birdies.
