Raleigh Relays Day 3

Irish Impress on Final Day of Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – The third and final day of the Raleigh Relays saw Notre Dame have strong finishes in both the men’s and women’s 3,000-meter Steeplechase as the Irish completed their first outdoor meet of the 2021 season.

Sophomore Olivia Markezich turned in the second-best time in school history in the women’s 3,000-meter Steeplechase as she clocked in at 9:58.18 to place second in the race Saturday. Senior AnnaSophia Keller was not far behind as she took fourth in the event with her time of 10:05.21. Keller’s time set a new personal best and now ranks as the number three time in Notre Dame history in the event.

Graduate student Will Daly led the way in the steeplechase for the Irish men as he took home second place with his time of 8:52.44, the seventh-best time in Notre Dame history. Fellow graduate student Colin Daly finished just a few paces behind, taking fourth place with his time of 8:53.99, the eighth-best mark in program history.

On the field, freshman Alaina Brady led the way with a sixth place finish in the women’s long jump, leaping 5.79 meters, a new personal best and the ninth-best mark in Notre Dame history.

The Irish will return to action on April 2-3, when they hit the road for the Louisville Invitational.
