Irish Host UNC & NC State To Open ACC Play

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The Irish open up Atlantic Coast Conference play with a pair of home matches against North Carolina and NC State this weekend. Notre Dame takes on the Tar Heels on Friday, September 27th at 7 p.m. ET before meeting the Wolfpack on Sunday, September 29th at 1 p.m. ET. Both matches are set to be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.

HISTORY VS. NORTH CAROLINA
Friday’s tilt marks the 14th time the Irish and Tar Heels will sqaure off. Notre Dame currently holds a 7-6 edge in the all-time series, including a road sweep over the Tar Heels last season. The Irish have won two consecutive matches against North Carolina dating back to November 17th, 2017, when they swept the Tar Heels inside Purcell Pavilion. Notre Dame holds a 3-1 mark against North Carolina at home.

HISTORY VS. NC STATE
Sunday’s match will be the 11th time the Irish take on the Wolf Pack with NC State holding a slight 6-4 advantage in the series. Notre Dame has won two of its last three home matches against the Wolf Pack, including a sweep on October 16th, 2016.
