Irish Host Blue Devils On Senior Day

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Notre Dame (18-9, 11-6 ACC) closes the regular season with Senior Day against Duke on Friday, November 29th. First serve inside Purcell Pavilion is set for 1 p.m. ET and the match is slated to stream live on ACC Network Extra.

HISTORY VS. DUKE
The Irish and Blue Devils will be meeting for the 18th time on Friday with Duke holding a slight 9-8 edge in the all-time series. The Irish earned a four-set victory over the Blue Devils earlier this season in Durham on October 13th. Charley Niego earned a game-high 16 kills in that victory while Madison Cruzado led all players with 19 digs.

SENIOR DAY
Ahead of Friday’s match, the Irish will honor Kristin Baer, Paige McKnight, Lauren Woodard and Jemma Yeadon in their last home match inside Purcell. Combined, the quartet has earned 1418 kills, 822 digs and 366 blocks over their Irish careers.

DIGGING THE VIBE
Notre Dame leads the conference with an average of 15.17 digs per set. The Irish have earned 70+ digs in six matches so far in 2019, including a 79-dig effort in a five-set victory over Michigan on September 18th. Junior Madison Cruzado earned a career-high 27 digs in a five-set match vs. Louisville on October 16th.

DE-FENSE
The Irish rank fourth in the ACC with an opponent hitting percentage of .190. They have kept their opponents under .200 in 10 of 15 ACC contests, including a .022 mark by Virginia on October 27th.

ASSISTING THE IRISH
Entering the final weekend, Zoe Nunez ranks second in the ACC with 1,140 total assists, which has eclipsed her freshman-season mark of 1,113. Nunez also stands third in the ACC with an average of 10.56 assists per set.
