Irish Hoopsters Ready For Barbados

Notre Dame, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s basketball team will head to Barbados for fall break (October 18-25) to take part in the BWAI Barbados International Hoops Challenge. The Irish are slated to play three games in the tournament.

Coach Mike Brey’s Irish will play the Milton Keynes Lions, a professional team from the British Basketball League on Sunday, October 19. Notre Dame will then face the Barbados National Team on Tuesday, October 21, before meeting the Milton Keynes Lions again on Wednesday, October 22. All three games will take place at the Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex in Barbados.

Irish fans can follow the team during its trip on www.und.com. Reports from all three games will be posted as well as daily diary updates highlighting the team’s travels.

A staff writer and photographer from ESPN Magazine also will accompany the team to Barbados to file a special feature in one of the magazine’s upcoming November issues.
