The Notre Dame hockey team will host a Teddy Bear Toss to benefit Toys for Tots on Sunday, Dec. 12 at the Joyce Center.  Bring a Teddy Bear to the game to throw on the ice.

Irish Hockey To Host Teddy Bear Toss And Skate With The Irish On December 12

Notre Dame, Ind. – Notre Dame hockey fans will have a chance to get into the Christmas spirit this weekend when the Irish play host to the Northern Michigan Wildcats at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12 at the Joyce Center.

Fans are asked to bring a Teddy Bear to the game and when the Irish score their first goal of the contest, the Teddy Bears can be tossed on to the ice. All the Teddy Bears collected with be donated to Toys for Tots to help provide gifts for the Christmas holidays.

Immediately following Sunday’s game with Northern Michigan all fans in attendance are invited to Skate with the Irish on the Joyce Center ice. The Irish hockey team has even invited a special guest for the event as Santa Claus will be on hand to skate with the players and fans. Skate rental will be available for those fans who don’t have skates.

The 11th-ranked Irish come into the final weekend before the holiday break with a 10-5-3 overall record and are in second place in the CCHA with an 8-3-1-1 mark, good for 26 points, one point behind first-place Miami. Northern Michigan is 7-7-3 overall and 6-4-2-0 in conference play, good for 20 points and a tie for fourth in the CCHA regular-season standings.
