Notre Dame hockey will have 14 of its games televised this season - 11 via Comcast Local, two by CSTV and one by Fox Sports Net Detroit.

Irish Hockey To Appear On Television 14 Times During 2007-08 Campaign

Notre Dame, Ind. – The 2007-08 Notre Dame hockey team can be seen on television a total of 14 times this season highlighted by 11 appearances on Comcast Local (six at home and five on the road). The Irish will appear nationally on College Sports Television (CSTV) twice during the season while Fox Sports Detroit will have Notre Dame on once in `07-’08.

The Irish television schedule starts with the home opener on Thursday, Oct. 18 when Notre Dame plays host to the Denver Pioneers in a 7:35 p.m. game at the Joyce Center. Comcast Local with Ben Holden handling the play-by-play duties and either Lyle Phair or Sean Ritchlin on color will handle the broadcasting duties on opening night.

Comcast Local will also broadcast the Oct. 23 game at Bowling Green, both games of the Lake Superior State series (Nov. 1-2) and the Nov. 17 game at Western Michigan in the first half of the season.

The Irish television schedule heats up in January. Comcast Local will open the New Year with Notre Dame’s game at Northern Michigan on Sat., Jan. 5th. That starts a run of five consecutive Irish games to hit the airwaves.

Fox Sports Net Detroit will deliver the Jan. 11th game versus Michigan State from Munn Arena while the Notre Dame-Michigan State game at the Joyce Center has been moved from Jan. 12 to Sunday, Jan. 13 for a 4:05 p.m. game to be shown on CSTV.

The following week, both games of the home-and-home series with Michigan will be televised. On Friday, Jan. 18, CSTV will broadcast the game from Yost Arena in Ann Arbor, Mich., while the Irish home game at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Sat., Jan. 19 can be seen on Comcast Local.

Comcast Local then rounds out the season with Notre Dame games versus Bowling Green at home (Jan. 25), at home with Ferris State (Feb. 8), at home with Ohio State (Feb. 22) and on the road at Western Michigan (Feb. 29).

Fox Sports Net Detroit will also televise five CCHA postseason games, including one game from each of the first two playoff rounds, then both semifinal games and the championship game from Joe Louis Arena. This season, Comcast Local will also do one game from each of the first two rounds of the CCHA playoffs.

In all, college hockey fans will have the opportunity to see at least 63 games involving teams from the CCHA, including 50 conference regular-season and playoff games between CSTV, ESPNU, Fox Sports Net Detroit, Comcast Local and the Big Ten Network.

Viewers should check their local cable or satellite systems for channels and locations of each telecast during the season.
