Irish Hockey Set For 16 Television Appearances During 2012-13 Season

Oct. 2, 2012

Notre Dame, Ind. – The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its 55-game television schedule for the 2012-13 season and Notre Dame is scheduled to appear a possible 16 times with six games carried by CBS Sports Network, five by Comcast Television, three by NBC Sports Network and one each by Fox Sports Detroit and Fox Sports North Plus.

Notre Dame will open the season on Oct. 12 at the Ice Breaker Tournament in Kansas City, Mo., facing the University of Maine in a 6:30 p.m. (CT) game that will appear on the NBC Sports Network. Should the Irish advance to the championship game on Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m. (CT) that game also would be televised live by NBC Sports Network.

The Irish appear twice on television in November, with games on Nov. 15-16 at Michigan to be televised by the CBS Sports Network (Nov. 15) and Comcast (Nov. 16).

In December, Notre Dame’s home series versus Michigan State (Dec. 7-8) will be televised with Friday’s game set for NBC Sports Network and Saturday’s going live on Comcast.

The TV schedule gets busy in January, as five games will be televised. Fox Sports North Plus will televise the Tuesday, Jan. 8 game against Minnesota from Minneapolis. The Irish then travel to Michigan State on Jan. 11-12 with both of those games appearing on Comcast. Notre Dame closes out January with two games on CBS Sports Network – the Jan. 19 home game against Alaska and the Jan. 25 contest versus Ferris State.

Five more games are set for television in February. When the Irish play host to Michigan on Feb. 8-9, the Feb. 8 game can be seen on CBS Sports Network while the Feb. 9 game is set to appear on Comcast. Notre Dame’s series with Miami also will have both games televised. The Feb. 15 game at Oxford, Ohio will be seen on the CBS Sports Network while the Feb. 17 game set for Soldier Field in Chicago will be televised by Fox Sports Detroit.

Notre Dame’s final regular-season televised game will be on Feb. 22 when the Irish travel to Kalamazoo, Mich., to face Western Michigan. CBS Sports Network will have the broadcast of that game.

Viewers should check their local cable or satellite systems for channels and locations of each telecast throughout the year.
