Irish Hockey And Men's Basketball Fans Traffic Information For Sat., Feb. 26

Feb. 24, 2011

Notre Dame, Ind. – Notre Dame sports fans are reminded that Saturday, Feb. 26 is a busy sports day at the Joyce Center and are asked to follow some parking and traffic instructions to cut delays entering the Joyce Center parking areas on Saturday evening.

The day starts with a women’s basketball game at 2:00 p.m. with the Irish playing host to Cincinnati at the Joyce Center.

On Saturday evening, the men’s basketball team will play host to Seton Hall in a 7:00 p.m. game at Purcell Pavilion while the hockey team closes out the regular season schedule at 7:05 p.m. against Western Michigan in the north dome.

Here is some traffic and parking advice to help with the flow of traffic. Of course the most important one is for fans to plan on arriving earlier than usual to assure getting into the parking lots on time for the starts of your respective games.

For hockey, fans are advised to park in the Library Lot, entering off of Bulla, from the north. This will help divide traffic with basketball fans entering from the south and hockey from the north.

For men’s basketball: Fans are asked to arrive from the south off of Angela Boulevard. Fans entering from the north may be directed to the Library Lot. If the south lots fill, then traffic will be pushed from the south to the north via Leahy to the Library Lot.

Message boards will be set up around the parking areas to assist in guiding traffic to the appropriate lots.

At the Joyce Center, hockey fans will not be able to access the building through gate 10 due to that entrance will be used for basketball only. Hockey fans should use Gates 3 and 4 to enter the Joyce Center rink.

We would like to thank fans ahead of time for following these traffic patterns to ease some of the congestion around the parking lots and the Joyce Center.
