Bobcat Invitational Schedule
NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame track & field program will head outside for the first time this season as they kick off the outdoor season this weekend at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, and the Bobcat Invitational at Texas State in San Marcos, Texas.
The Irish will send their best sprinters and relay groups to the prestigious Texas Relays, which will take place Wednesday through Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas. Several field specialists will compete at the Texas State University Track and Field Stadium in nearby San Marcos at the Bobcat Invitational from Thursday through Saturday, while eight student-athletes will compete in both meets.
Notre Dame will gain several events during the outdoor season that are not a part of indoor competition, including the women’s heptathlon, men’s decathlon, discus, hammer thrown, 4×100-meter relay, 4×200-meter relay, 4×800-meter relay, 100-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, 3,000-meter steeplechase and 10,000 meters. The Irish will focus on sprints, relays and field events this weekend. The Irish will also see the return of All-Americans Carly Loeffel and Kaila Barber, who did not compete during the indoor season.
Action at the 88th Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays kicks of at 11:30 a.m. EDT on Wednesday with heptathlon and decathlon events and will continue through Saturday. The event will be broadcast on the Longhorn Network, with links above. The Bobcat Invitational will begin at 1 p.m. EDT on Thursday and continue through Saturday.
