Irish Head to NCAA Regionals for the 24th Consecutive Season

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame softball team heard its name called on the NCAA Selection Show Presented by Capital One Sunday evening. The Fighting Irish will head to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the NCAA Fayetteville Regional as part of a field with Oregon, Harvard and the host Razorbacks. Its the 24th-consecutive regional for Irish softball, tied for the third longest active streak in NCAA softball. 

The Irish will take on the Oregon Ducks in the first round of the tournament, as the host team will take on the Harvard Crimson in the first round of the four-team double elimination tournament. 

Notre Dame finished the regular season at 29-17-1 overall, notching key series wins over NCAA participants Virginia Tech and Louisville, and taking games from Indiana, Miami (Ohio), Duke and UNC Greensboro, all of which made the 2023 NCAA Softball Championship Tournament. 

The Irish had five members earn All-ACC honors this season, led by Defensive Player of the Year Carlli Kloss, first team selections Joley Mitchell and Karina Gaskins, a second team selection by graduate transfer Lexi Orozco and Freshman All-ACC, Mickey Winchell.
