CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The University of Notre Dame women’s golf team wrapped up its three-day competition in the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational at the UNC Finley Golf Course Sunday with a final round team total of 303. The Irish posted a team total of 902 (305-294-303) for the weekend, finishing 17th on the leaderboard.

“We hit the ball well enough to play better golf, but our poor putting kept us from scoring well,” said Notre Dame head coach Susan Holt. “We know we can play better, we just have to execute and get it done. We have a solid week to prep for our next event and the team is ready to work out the kinks.”

Sophomore Talia Campbell performed consistently over the course of the weekend, posting a one over par score of 73 Sunday, finishing the tournament with a score of 218 (73-72-73) and tied for 19th place.

Freshman Jordan Ferreira made moves up the individual leaderboard after posting 75 (+3), landing her a tie for 68th place.

Junior Ashley Armstrong finished the tournament in 47th place with an overall score of 224 (75-72-77). Senior Kristina Nhim landed in 80th place at 232 (78-76-78), and junior Kelli Oride–who had the most birdies for the Irish on day three with three–finished in 89th place after carding a total of 236 (82-75-79).

The Irish travel back to North Carolina in two weeks, heading to Wilmington for The Landfall Tradition.
