Irish Finish Fifth At ACC Championship

The University of Notre Dame rowing team competed in five Grand Finals at the 2021 ACC Championships on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, South Carolina, on Saturday morning. Virginia claimed the team title, while the Irish finished fifth in the final team standings.

2021 ACC Rowing Championship Results

Sophomore Adelaide Lammers earned first-team All-ACC honors while senior Marielle Corbett was voted to the second team.

“I am proud of the team and everything they have gone through to get here,” head coach Martin Stone said after the competition wrapped up.

“We would have liked a better result, but the racing was tight and we knew it was going to be tight. The 2V gave us a chance to finish fourth by gutting out a great finish ahead of Clemson in their final. The 1V gave it everything they had, we just came up short.”

“Kudos to Adelaide and Marielle for making the all-conference teams. We would like to thank the Clemson organizing committee and the ACC for putting together a great regatta for all the teams. All of the coaches and teams are very appreciative – at the start of the year we were not sure we could get this done and we pulled it off.”
