EUGENE, Ore. — The University of Notre Dame women’s track & field program earned its highest finish in program history on Saturday at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, as a pair of student-athletes turned in first-team All-America performances at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.

The Irish women finished tied with Stanford for 13th in the team standings with 18 total points. The previous highest finish for the Irish came in 1999, when the team finished in 17th place. The Irish were propelled by the national championship performance of junior Molly Seidel in the 10,000 meters, as well as top-eight performances by senior Jade Barber in the 100-meter hurdles and junior Margaret Bamgbose in the 400 meters. Oregon captured the team championship (59 points), followed by Kentucky (50) and Texas A&M (47).

Barber finished in fourth place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 12.85, officially recording her ninth All-America honor with a first-team showing. Her nine citations are the most by an exclusive track athlete in women’s program history. Kentucky’s Kendra Harrison snared the title with a time of 12.55, followed by Cindy Ofili of Michigan (12.60) and Dior Hall of USC (12.74).

Bamgbose finished sixth in the 400 meters championship with a time of 52.13, officially earning her eighth career All-America citation. Atlantic Coast Conference champion Kala Funderburk of Florida State took the title (51.67), followed by Kendall Baisden of Texas (51.739) and Daye Shon Roberson of Oklahoma (51.740).
