Irish Fall To Wolfpack, 80-69

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame dropped an 80-69 decision on Wednesday evening inside Purcell Pavilion to NC State. 

The Irish had three players finish in double figures in the scoring column with Prentiss Hubb leading the team with 14 points. Nate Wertz added 12 and Juwan Durham chipped in 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Irish trailed the Wolfpack by eight at the half, 40-32. Notre Dame trailed by just one at 22-21 with just over seven minutes left in the half but the hosts managed to extend the lead to eight by the halftime intermission.

NC State carried its momentum into the second stanza, and increased its advantage to as many as 19 points (76-57) with 3:39 to play. The Irish then answered with a 12-0 run to cut the lead to seven at 76-69 with just over a minute remaining but the Wolfpack scored the final four points to come away with the 80-69 victory.
