NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Indiana won nine events, including both relays, to knock off the University of Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving team, 175-125, Saturday afternoon at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.

Having big days in the pool for the Irish were sophomore Emma Reaney and senior Jenny Chiang. Reaney continued her dominating 2012-13 season with victories in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 IM, while Chiang swept the boards, winning both the 1- and 3-meter dives. Also picking up victories were Kim Holden (100 fly) and Bridget Casey (200 fly).

The Irish return home to close out the home season as they welcome in Towson for the Shamrock Invitational. The two-day event gets underway at 5 p.m. Friday.

200 Medley Relay: IU took the first race of the day, winning the 200 medley relay in 1:41.20 … the Irish took second in 1:42.44 … competing for the Irish were Sarah Dotzel, Emma Reaney, Kim Holden and Catherine Galletti.

1,000 Free: The Hoosiers swept the top two spots in the 1,000 free as Taylor O’Brien (10:00.37) and Haley Lips (10:08.66) went one and two … senior Jaime Malandra led the way for the Irish as she finished in 10:15.01 to take third.

200 Free: Indiana took the top two spots in the 200 free as Lindsay Vrooman (1:48.58) and Cynthia Pammett (1:49.79) went one and two … Suzanne Bessire finished third in 1:52.64 to lead the way for the Irish.

100 Back: Brooklyn Snodgrass won the 100 back with a time of 54.21 … Kim Holden followed behind in second, touching the pad in 55.73 … Justine Ress placed third in 56.18 before Kelly Ryan (56.28) and Sarah Dotzel (56.67) took fourth and fifth, respectively.

100 Breast: Emma Reaney picked up her first individual win of the day with a win in the 100 breast … the sophomore won in 1:00.59, over a second faster than Bronwyn Pasloski (1:01.60) … Indiana claimed positions three and four.

200 Fly: Bridget Casey won the 200 fly in 2:00.69, just besting Indiana’s Haley Lips by just .17 seconds … the Hoosiers took positions two through five.

50 Free: Sara Delay (23.37) and Cynthia Pammett (23.69) took one and two for the Hoosiers … Kelly Ryan (23.77) and Catherine Galletti (23.82) claimed third and forth for Notre Dame.

100 Free: Cynthia Pammett took first in the 100 free with a time of 50.57 … Kelly Ryan placed second for the Irish in 51.61 … freshman Catherine Galletti followed closely behind in third (51.62), finishing just .01 seconds behind Ryan.

200 Back: Indiana’s Brooklyn Snodgrass placed first in the 200 back, finishing in 1:56.32 … Kim Holden touched the pad second in 1:59.36 … the Hoosiers also placed third through fifth.

200 Breast: Emma Reaney won the 200 breast in 2:12.94, winning by just over three seconds over Madeline Maher (2:16.03) … IU also claimed third and fourth before Lauren Stauder took fifth in 2:19.88.

500 Free: The Hoosiers took first and second in the 500 free as Lindsay Vrooman (4:53.33) and Taylor O’Brien (4:53.38) touched the wall a mere .05 seconds apart … Jaime Malandra earned her second top-three finish of the day by placing third in 5:00.89 … fellow senior Gracie Fredlake placed fourth in 5:05.40.

100 Fly: Kim Holden won the 100 fly with a time of 55.27 … she beat out second place swimmer Haley Lips (55.81) by .54 seconds … Sarah Dotzel (56.29), Bridget Casey (56.33) and Lauren Scott (56.78) took third through fifth.

200 IM: Emma Reaney continued her dominance in the 200 IM with an almost 2.5 second victory … the Lawrence, Kan., native touched the wall in 2:01.02 … the Hoosiers placed second through fifth.

400 Free Relay: IU closed out the meet with a sweep of the relays as it touched the pad first in the 400 free relay in a time of 3:24.52 … the Irish placed second in 3:26.03 … Kelly Ryan, Sarah Dotzel, Catherine Galletti and Suzanne Bessire swam the relay for Notre Dame.

1-Meter Dive: Jenny Chiang won the 1-meter dive to complete the sweep on the boards … the senior totaled 316.13 points, almost 15 points more than second place Amy Cozad (301.43) … IU’s Kate Hillman took third with 295.50 points … Lindsey Streepey (282.68), Emma Gaboury (276.90) and Allison Casareto (274.28) placed fourth through sixth.

3-Meter Dive: Jenny Chiang (329.63) won the 3-meter dive by 18.60 points over Indiana’s Kate Hillman (311.03) … Amy Cozad (290.55) took third before Lindsey Streepy (282.30), Allison Casareto (272.78), Emma Gaboury (263.93) and Kimmie Lisiak (256.43) placed fourth through seventh.
