PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team wrapped its stay at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Thursday as senior Quinn Gleason and junior Monica Robinson fell to an Atlantic Coast Conference rival in the second round of the doubles main draw.

Notre Dame’s 10th-ranked doubles duo received a first-round bye before meeting North Carolina’s No. 15 Whitney Kay and Hayley Carter in Thursday’s nightcap at the Riviera Tennis Club. Kay and Carter defeated Gleason and Robinson 8-4 after rolling past USC’s Jessica Failla and Gabby Smith 8-1 in morning’s first round.

Gleason and Robinson each left the tournament with a pair of singles wins.

The Irish will return action in two weeks at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Michigan at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor. The event will run October 22-27 and serve as qualifying for the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in mid-November at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.
