Notre Dame at Boston College Box Score

The University of Notre Dame men’s basketball team (3-4, 0-1) dropped its first Atlantic Coast Conference game of the year at Boston College (6-3, 1-0) on Friday afternoon. The Eagles rode hot shooting and a dominating performance on the backboard to earn the victory. Notre Dame was led by senior Prentiss Hubb with a season-high 15 points.

Notre Dame started slow from the field, as they missed a few early looks at the rim to allow Boston College out to a 7-0 lead. The Irish responded with a mini run, bolstered by a three-point play from Nate Laszewski and a wing three pointer from the forward.

Boston College was able to build a double digit lead late in the first half with the points coming from their front line. James Karnik had nine points with 10 rebounds before the half ended, while Quinten Post added eight points and four free throws.

The home team extended their lead after the halftime break, starting the second 20 minutes with a 15-2 run to earn a 52-29 lead with 15 minutes left.

The Irish responded briefly with a 7-0 run, but Boston College came right back with a 6-0 run to extend to a 58-36 lead. The Eagles would maintain the lead throughout the second half and earn their first ACC win of the season.

Next up for Notre Dame will be a home game against Kentucky, Saturday, December 11, 2021. The Irish will induct LaPhonso Ellis into the Purcell Pavilion Ring of Honor at halftime of the contest.
