Irish Compete at Iowa State Classic

AMES, Iowa – The Notre Dame women’s track and field team took a select group of student athletes to compete at the Iowa Classic on Friday February 11 and Saturday February 12.

The Irish competed in the women’s 3000 meter run and the 5000 meter race. 

In the 3000 meter, Madeleine King crossed the finish line at 9:28.91 to take third place. Maddy Denner was not far behind as she took ninth place in the race with a time of 9:36.27.

The women’s 5000 meter race saw four Irish compete including Jacqueline Gaughan who took fourth place with a time of 16:02.32. Erin Stzelecki crossed the finish line at 16:07.09 to take seventh while Katie Rose Blachowicz made a time of 16:30.13. Kate Wiser rounded out the Irish competitors with a time of 16:51.28.

Notre Dame continues competition next week when they host the Alex Wilson Invitational at the Loftus Sports Center.
