Irish Come Up Short At Louisville, 69-57

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame fell behind Louisville early on Tuesday evening and was never able to make a complete comeback, falling to the Cardinals by a final score of 69-57.

Juwan Durham had the best performance on the offensive end for Notre Dame, scoring 18 points on 9-of-15 shooting. The other Irish player to join him in double figures scoring was Prentiss Hubb, who chipped in 14 points and led the team in assists with six.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Irish struggled to find rhythm on the offensive end in the first half, scoring 24 points on 9-of-28 shooting. Fortunately, Notre Dame held the hosts to 33 points to keep the deficit to single-digits at 33-24 at the halftime break.

Notre Dame managed to chip away at the host’s lead, trimming it to five points at 56-51 with 6:26 left in the game. However, Louisville responded with seven straight of its own to push the advantage back to double digits at 63-51. The Irish were never able to make a run in the final five minutes and fell by a final score of 69-57.
