NOTRE DAME, Ind. – As spring finally makes an appearance in South Bend it’s time to start looking towards this summer and the four camps the University of Notre Dame baseball team will host at the new and improved Frank Eck Stadium.
With a brand new artificial surface just days away from completion, participants in this year’s Irish baseball camps will get to play on a state of the art FieldTurf surface and learn under Irish coaches and players in addition to some of the area’s best high school coaches.
All four camps will offer participants a chance to improve their skills in a competitive and exciting atmosphere geared toward player development. Players will have the opportunity to practice on the same facilities utilized by the Irish baseball team and participants in the developmental and prospects camp will get to stay in the campus dorms and get a taste of what college baseball is like.
The first of two day camps will be June 16-19, while the second is set for June 23-26. Both camps are open to children ages 6-11.
Later in June, the Irish will play host to a developmental camp from June 30-July 2 that will be open to children ages 12-14. A prospect camp for high school students ages 15-18 will wrap up the summer July 21-23. Both of the final two camps will be of the overnight variety.
All four camps will take place at the University of Notre Dame and its internationally-renowned campus located on the outskirts of South Bend, Ind., just 90 miles east of Chicago.
Many of the nation’s finest athletic facilities will be utilized during each camp session. Frank Eck Stadium, the home of the Irish, features four outdoor batting cages and four bullpen mounds in addition to pitching machines, a bunting area and an impressive and revamped clubhouse. The cage area includes spots for tee and soft toss. An indoor pitching and hitting facility adjacent to Frank Eck Stadium features four indoor cages, two clay mounds, artificial turf and a classroom for video breakdown.
