In addition to the prime-time Shamrock Series game, the Notre Dame agreement with NBC Sports features the option for three night games in Notre Dame Stadium over each two-year window. NBC showed one night game from Notre Dame Stadium in 2014 (Michigan), so the network will show two prime-time contests in 2015 (Texas and USC).
Navy (34th appearance at Notre Dame Stadium) and USC (40th at Notre Dame Stadium) last played at Notre Dame in 2013. Texas will be coming to Notre Dame Stadium for the fourth time (also played there in 1934, 1954 and 1995). Georgia Tech will be making its 19th appearance at Notre Dame (its 15th at Notre Dame Stadium), while Wake Forest will head to Notre Dame Stadium for the second time (also in 2012). Notre Dame and Massachusetts have never met in football.
Eight of the 2015 Notre Dame opponents played in postseason bowl games following the 2014 season — including Texas (6-7, Texas Bowl), Georgia Tech (11-3, defeated Mississippi State in Orange Bowl), Clemson (10-3, defeated Oklahoma in Russell Athletic Bowl), Navy (8-5, won Poinsettia Bowl over San Diego State), USC (9-4, won Holiday Bowl over Nebraska), Pittsburgh (6-7, Armed Forces Bowl), Boston College (7-6, Pinstripe Bowl) and Stanford (8-5, defeated Maryland in Foster Farms Bowl). Three of Notre Dame’s 2015 opponents finished in the final Associated Press poll for 2014–#8 Georgia Tech, #15 Clemson and #20 USC.
Please note that South Bend observes Eastern time (including DST) all year around. In 2015, daylight time ends and standard time begins on Sunday, Nov. 1.
