Irish Add Korbin Albert to Incoming Class

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Doug and Lisa Jones Family Head Women’s Soccer Coach Nate Norman is not finished with his incoming class as he adds another addition to the class that will be making their way to campus this fall.

Midfielder Korbin Albert is the latest signee to sign on the dotted line for the Irish as she reclassified to the 2021 recruiting class after finishing prep school in three years. She joins six incoming freshmen that are already part of the class along with two transfer students.

“We are very excited about Korbin,” said Norman. “She is an extremely talented attacking player. She can break down back lines by running at players 1-v-1, combining past defenders, or being the provider with a great final pass. She is also extremely proficient in possession. Korbin will be a very fun and exciting player to watch and we can’t wait to coach her in the fall!”

Albert hails from Grayslake, Illinois, attended Classical Consortium Academy and played club soccer for Eclipse Select and coach Mike Nesci. She was club teammates with current Irish forward Kiki Van Zanten. She has a number of years of experience in the US Youth National Team Pool from 2015 to 2019. In 2019, she was called up to the U-17 WNT as they traveled to the Czech Republic for a four-team UEFA Development Tournament.

Korbin is one of six siblings as she has four brothers; DJ, Kyler, Keaton & Landon, and one sister, Teagon. Her mom, Janet, was an All-American at track and field during her time at the University of Iowa. DJ played soccer at the University of Cincinnati, Keaton played soccer at Indiana Wesleyan and Teagon plays soccer and is on the diving team at Olivet Nazarene University.
