Irish Finish 12th at Purdue Intercollegiate

RESULTS 

SARASOTA, Fla. — Freshman Chloe Schiavone and senior Abby Heck led the Irish with final round, one-over par 73’s on Tuesday at Purdue’s Heroes Ladies Intercollegiate.

Playing at the Founders Club, Notre Dame carded a final round 298 as a team and moved up one spot to finish 12th in its first tournament of the season (314-295-298=907).

Schiavone (78-71-73=222) was Notre Dame’s top finisher as she tied for 28th in her Fighting Irish debut. Her final round included four birdies, 10 pars, three bogeys and a double. For the three rounds, she played the par 3’s at a two-under par clip to rank fifth in the 75-player field.  

Heck’s final round included three birdies, 11 pars and 4 bogeys as she tied for 31st (77-73-73=223). Her 37 pars over the three rounds tied for eighth. 

In addition to Schiavone and Heck, Madelyn Jones (75) and Claire Albrecht (77) scored on the final day of play for the Irish, while Lauren Beaudreau shot a 78. 

Oklahoma State (288-279-282=849) caught Ole Miss (284-279-288=851) in the final round to win the tournament by two strokes. Maja Stark of Oklahoma State took home medalist honors with a final round 69 (66-66-69=201).
