NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team will host a rare mid-week matchup Wednesday when the Irish face Purdue at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.

On The Boilermakers

  • Purdue enters Wednesday’s match with a 5-5 mark, having won its first five matches before slumping in its last five contests.
  • The Irish are 23-6 all-time against the Boilermakers, including 17-3 under head coach Jay Louderback. Notre Dame defeated Purdue 6-1 last season in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Last Time Out

Notre Dame won two road matches to put together a three-match winning streak, defeating Indiana 6-1 Saturday and ACC opponent Louisville 5-2 Sunday. The Irish are now 4-0 in road matches this season. Remaining undefeated in singles were senior Monica Robinson (6-0 at No. 1 singles) and freshman Zoe Spence (7-0 at Nos. 3-6 singles). The Irish are 33-9 in dual singles matches this season.

Singles Standouts

The Irish boast three singles players with at least six wins in seven matches so far this season, led by freshman Zoe Spence at 7-0. Senior Monica Robinson is also undefeated with a 6-0 record, while junior Allison Miller sports a 6-1 mark.

Rankings Rundown

The first computerized Oracle/ITA Division I National Women’s Tennis Rankings were released Tuesday, with the Irish debuting at No. 41 in the national team rankings, which features the nation’s top 50 teams. Junior Brooke Broda and junior Allison Miller entered the Oracle/ITA DIvision I National Women’s Doubles Rankings last week, coming in at No. 58, despite having not played together since the fall. Miller also entered the singles rankings at No. 118.
