NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team returns to Atlantic Coast Conference play this weekend when the Irish host Boston College and Syracuse at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.

On The Eagles

  • After starting the season 1-3, the Eagles have won five of their last six matches coming into Friday’s contest.
  • BC’s Lexi Borr was named the ACC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week this week after going 4-0 in singles and doubles in wins over Boston University and Syracuse.
  • The Irish are 13-0 all-time against the Eagles, with all 13 wins coming under head coach Jay Louderback.

On The Orange

  • Syracuse will face Pittsburgh on Friday before heading to South Bend to face the Irish. The Orange have lost in their last two matches heading into the weekend.
  • The Irish are 7-1 in the all-time series against Syracuse.

Last Time Out

Notre Dame extended its winning streak to six matches with victories over Michigan State and Bowling Green in a doubleheader on Saturday. The Irish picked up 6-0 wins over both teams. Senior Mary Closs, junior Allison Miller, sophomore Rachel Chong and freshman Zoe Spence each picked up a pair of singles wins, while Miller and Closs were 2-0 in doubles.

Singles Standouts

The Irish boast two singles players with at least nine wins in 10 matches so far this season, led by freshman Zoe Spence at 10-0. Junior Allison Miller is similarly impressive with a 9-1 mark.

Rankings Rundown

The Irish jumped 14 spots in the Oracle/ITA Division I National Women’s Tennis Rankings this week, leaping to No. 27 from No. 41 a week ago. Junior Brooke Broda and junior Allison Miller entered the Oracle/ITA DIvision I National Women’s Doubles Rankings last week, coming in at No. 58, despite having not played together since the fall. Miller also entered the singles rankings at No. 118.
