Incoming Freshman Kremer Named Sand Volleyball All-American

May 21, 2014

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – University of Notre Dame volleyball incoming freshman Jo Kremer has been named to the inaugural High School Sand Volleyball All-America Team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), the organization announced recently.

An incredibly exclusive team with just four members on it, the All-America team includes three sand players from California and one from Florida.

“I am incredibly honored to be named to the first-ever High School Sand Volleyball All-America Team and cannot wait to bring what I’ve learned on the beach to the Notre Dame volleyball team in August,” said Kremer.

The Pacific Palisades, Calif., native is already an established indoor player but has recently made her case as one of the best in the sand. She recently finished her high school season undefeated on the beach while also playing at the Elite Beach Volleyball Club coached by sand volleyball legends Holly McPeak, Barbara Fontana and Eric Fonoimoana.

During the year, Kremer was selected to represent the club’s top team after finishing first and earning MVP honors at the San Diego Beach Volleyball Club Sand Combine. She also earned a gold medal at the 2014 AAU Beach Volleyball Elite Power League Pairs Tournament.

The 2014 Irish return to campus August 10, as they get ready for their second year in the ultra-competitive Atlantic Coast Conference. The 2014 schedule should be released in the coming weeks.
