ALEX WILSON INVITATIONAL MEET INFORMATION

Teams should pick up their information packet and pay their entry fee at the announcer’s table in the balcony.

Parking: President Bush will be visiting the Joyce Center on Fiday afternoon and access to campus will be restricted. Teams are advised that no parking will be available in the lots adjacent to the Joyce Center on Friday afternoon. Parking will be available in the library lot (B2), located north of the Notre Dame athletics facilities, with access via Courtney road. Tentatively, team buses will be allowed to pickup/dropoff just north of Carier Field and Moose Krause Stadium. On Saturday, parking will be limited in the Joyce center lots because of the Irish men’s basketball game. Teams are again advised to park in the library lot.

Campus Maps as well as parking maps are available at www.nd.edu/maps as well as http://ndsp.nd.edu/parking.html. Any questions about parking or traffic information should be directed to the Notre Dame Security Police (574) 631-5053.

Heat Sheets are available in pdf format at : Alex Wilson Invitational Heat Sheets

The TIME SCHEDULE has been REVISED to accurately reflect the entries in each event and is included in your packet. We expect to adhere closely to the REVISED time schedule. The revised schedule is available at the end of this release.

DECLARATIONS/ SCRATCHES: YOU MUST DECLARE or SCRATCH your athlete, using the enclosed form, by 10:00 AM on SATURDAY morning. Please return this form to the CHECK-IN Table on Friday night or Saturday morning. ATHLETES NOT DECLARED WILL BE SCRATCHED. If you have a late scratch after the deadline, please inform the clerk at the check-in table.

If there are significant SCRATCHES following Friday night’s events (eg. DMRs), please be aware that sections in affected races may be adjusted to more accurately reflect the actual entries. PLEASE do not ask to change sections, as we have done our best to fairly assign your athletes based on actual performances, not what you hope they can run.

THE FINISH LINE AREA IS OFF LIMITS TO ALL COACHES AND ATHLETES

RUNNING EVENT CHECK IN : Please have your athletes check in with the clerk at the CHECK-IN TABLE, located on the east end of the infield, at least 30 minutes prior to the start of their race. Bib numbers will not be assigned. HIP numbers will be used in all running events. At check in, runners will receive a hip number corresponding to their starting position. Hip numbers should be worn on the RIGHT HIP in all races. Athletes in the mile, 3000 and 5000 meter races will wear a second number on their LEFT CHEST, in addition to the number on their right hip. The final runner on relay teams will be given a hip number.

Field Event athletes should check in with the official at their event at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of their event. In all field events, the time limit to initiate your attempt will be strictly enforced. Nine athletes in the throws and horizontal jumps will advance to the finals and receive three additional attempt following the preliminary rounds.

Implements may be weighed in at the throwing area beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday for the weight, and 10:00 AM on Saturday for the shot. Once the implements have been certified, they will be IMPOUNDED by our meet officials, who will closely monitor them. All certified implements must remain within the throwing area throughout the competition and may not be adjusted in any manner. Any implements not impounded will NOT be allowed in the competition.

Trainers will be located at the top of the sprint straight-away in the northeast corner of the building. They will have ice available. If you require additional modalities, please check with the Notre Dame trainers in Loftus.

Additional Rest Room facilities (port-o-johns) are available at the east (far) end of the building through the doors under the Meyo Field sign.

Proof of Performance Forms: Computers will be available in the Loftus Center for coaches to submit their proof of performance forms electronically. Please see our Sports Information Assistant, Doug Walker, who will be located at the announcer’s table in the balcony, in order to access this computer.
