Hubschmann Picked By Philadelphia In NLL Entry Draft

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Brian Hubschmann (Short Hills, N.J./Delbarton), a former midfielder on the Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team, was selected by the Philadelphia Wings in the sixth round of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) Entry Draft, which was held on Sept. 1 in Denver, Colo. Hubschmann was the 77th pick overall.

Hubschmann returned to Notre Dame for a fifth season in 2007 and helped the Irish capture their 10th Great Western Lacrosse League (GWLL) title and make the program’s 12th NCAA Tournament appearance. He finished second on the team with 27 goals. Hubschmann garnered honorable mention All-America honors along with being named to the all-GWLL second team. He concluded his college career with 79 goals and 45 assists.

The NLL held an invite-only combine for 42 of the top draft prospects the day before the draft. Hubschmann, along with his former Notre Dame teammate Lucius Polk (Washington, D.C./St. Albans), participated in the event.
