FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Senior Jack Howard advanced to the finals of the men’s 800-meter heat with a fifth-place finish in the preliminary heat Friday at the NCAA Indoor Championships held at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
Howard clocked in at 1:49.52 for the fifth-place performance. Oregon’s Andrew Wheating ran the top preliminary time of 1:49.23.
Howard will compete in the final 800-meter run Saturday at 7:35 p.m. (CT).
Senior Joanna Schultz also represented the Irish in Fayetteville, finishing 11th in the women’s 400 meters with a time of 53.58. Hampton’s Francena McCoy led the pack with a preliminary time of 52.14. The top eight runners advanced to the final heat.
