April 14, 2017

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s golf team will take a travel break from a spring which has seen the team play from coast (Florida) to coast (Seattle) to contend on its home course on Saturday as the Irish play host to the annual Battle at the Warren.

The day’s 36 holes of action begins at 9:40 a.m.

The Field

Notre Dame, Canisius and Detroit-Mercy comprise the small three-team field.

About the Course

Warren Golf Course has served as the home of the Fighting Irish since 1999. It has played host to several prominent events but will truly become an international showcase in 2018 when it plays host to the U.S. Senior Open.

Due to the after-affects of the flood that ravaged South Bend late last summer, particularly Juday Creek which abuts the course, the 18th hole has been shortened to a 145-yard par-three. As such, the course will play at 6,713 yards for this weekend’s event at par-70.

Notre Dame Lineup

All 11 members of the Irish team will be in action on Saturday with six individuals competing in addition to the five whom will count towards Notre Dame’s team score. The team is seeded for this event as follows:

1. Blake Barens
2. Matthew Rushton
3. Ben Albin
4. Davis Lamb
5. John Felitto
Ind. Liam Cox
Ind. Thomas Steve
Ind. Kevin Conners
Ind. Miguel Delgado
Ind. Hunter Ostrom
Ind. Jens Verhey
