Hoff Earns GWLL Player Of The Week Honors

Feb. 27, 2008

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame junior attackman Ryan Hoff (Baldwin, Md./Dulaney) has been named the Great Western Lacrosse League (GWLL) player of the week for the week of February 18-24. Hoff scored six goals in a 15-9 victory over Penn State on Sunday (Feb. 24).

The six-goal effort from Hoff was one off the school record, which he shares with Randy Colley (class of 1995). Hoff leads the Fighting Irish with seven goals this season. He notched a team-high 40 goals one year ago.

This is the first conference player of the week accolade for Hoff, who was a first-team all-GWLL selection in 2007. Entering this season, Hoff was an honorable mention All-America pick according to Inside Lacrosse.

Notre Dame has claimed both GWLL player of the week honors so far this season. Last week, senior goaltender Joey Kemp (Potomac, Md./Georgetown Prep) was tabbed as the league’s top player for the week.

The Fighting Irish will return to action with a home tilt against Albany on Saturday, March 1. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (ET) inside the Loftus Sports Center.
