Saturday’s Big Ten Semifinal Game Versus Minnesota Set For 7 p.m.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Next weekend’s Big Ten Tournament semifinal game between No. 2 seed Notre Dame and No. 3 seed Minnesota at the Compton Family Ice Arena will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 16.

The Fighting Irish advanced to the semifinals with a home quarterfinal series sweep of Michigan State (March 8-9). The Irish blanked the Spartans 1-0 in game one and followed with a 2-0 victory in game two. Cale Morris stooped all 55 shots he faced in the series for Notre Dame, while Mike O’Leary had the game one winner and Pierce Crawford (GWG) and Graham Slaggert (SHG) scored in game two.
 
Last season, as the No. 1 seed the Irish downed Penn State in a home semifinal game before defeating Ohio State in overtime to claim the 2018 Big Ten Tournament Championship in their first season in the league. The Irish are now 4-0 in four Big Ten Tournament games.
 
Minnesota advanced to the 2019 semifinals by sweeping Michigan, taking game one 3-2 in overtime and then claiming game two 4-1.
