No. 2 Seeded Irish To Host No. 7 Michigan State In Big Ten Quarterfinals

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame hockey team has earned the No. 2 seed for the upcoming 2019 Big Ten Ice Hockey Tournament and will play host to a best-of-three quarterfinal series against No. 7 seed Michigan State beginning on Friday, March 8 at the Compton Family Ice Arena.
 
The games on March 8, 9 and 10 (if necessary) will each begin at 7 p.m. To purchase tickets, click here. The games will also be available on BTN Plus.
 
The Fighting Irish secured second place in the tightly contested Big Ten with 37 points (11-11-2-2), one point clear of third place Minnesota. No. 3 seed Minnesota will host No. 6 seed Michigan and No. 4 seed Penn State will host No. 5 seed Wisconsin.
 
As the top-seeded team, Ohio State will have a bye to the single-elimination semifinals, which are scheduled for March 16-17. The highest-seeded team advancing from the quarterfinals will host the second-highest advancing seed, while the lowest-seeded advancing team will play at Ohio State.
 
The highest-seeded team remaining after the semifinals will host a championship game scheduled for the weekend of March 23-24. The semifinal rounds will be televised live on BTN and streamed on the FOX Sports app and BTN2Go, along with the championship game on either March 23 or March 24.
