BOSTON, Mass. — Riding a seven-game unbeaten streak in the month of February (5-0-2) which continued with last night’s 3-1 win at Boston University, the Irish have worked their way back into the Hockey East regular-season title race.

With a victory on Saturday night versus the Terriers, Notre Dame would win the Hockey East championship in outright fashion. With a tie, the Irish would share the title with UMass Lowell and Boston College, while a loss would give Notre Dame the No. 4 seed heading into the Hockey East playoffs.

The seven-game unbeaten streak is Notre Dame’s longest of the season and it is tied for the seventh-longest active streak in the country. Junior goaltender Cal Petersen moved up to eighth in the country in save percentage (.928) and goals against average (2.06) after stopping 37 of the 38 shots he faced.
