NOTRE DAME, Ind. — After capturing the 2017-18 Big Ten Regular Season and Tournament Championships, the Fighting Irish earned a No. 1 seed in the 2018 NCAA Championship field and will head to Bridgeport, Connecticut to play No. 4 seeded Michigan Tech at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 23 (ESPN2).

The Irish (25-9-2) are the top seed in the East Regional and will meet Michigan Tech (22-16-5), who made the NCAA Championship field by virtue of winning the WCHA tournament title. Notre Dame was the only team in the 16-team field to capture its league’s regular season and tournament titles.

This season’s trip to the NCAA tournament will mark a third consecutive NCAA appearance by the Fighting Irish and the 10th in program history, with nine of those coming under head coach Jeff Jackson. In 2008, 2011 and 2017 Jackson guided Notre Dame to Frozen Four appearances. Notre Dame is 8-9-0 all-time in NCAA Tournament games (8-8-0 under Jackson).
