Hilling Earns Spot On BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll For Second Time

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – University of Notre Dame women’s lacrosse standout Ellie Hilling has earned a spot on the BIG EAST’s Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season, the league office announced Monday.

Hilling, who also received recognition March 25, stopped 26 shots in 127:21 of action in goal as the Irish went 1-1 on the weekend.

In a 14-13, 2OT loss, to No. 17/20 Loyola Friday night, the Rochester, N.Y., native stopped 12 Greyhound shots and had two ground balls in producing a .417 save percentage.

Against No. 8/8 Georgetown on Sunday, the senior stepped up her game as she stuffed a season-high 14 Hoya shots (.480 save %) and tied her career high with six ground balls in a huge 13-12 win.

Hilling is fourth in school history in ground balls and first in school goalie history for games played and started (66), minutes (3,881:58), wins (43) and saves (496). She is also second in goals-against average (9.81) and seventh in save percentage (.439).

No. 6/7 Notre Dame hits the road this weekend for a pair of key BIG EAST matchups. Looking to clinch a spot in next month’s BIG EAST Championship, the Irish meet No. 5/5 Syracuse at 7 p.m. Friday on CBS Sports Network and No. 19/RV Connecticut at 12 p.m. Sunday.
