NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Freshman libero Hattie Monson has been named the ACC’s Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday morning (Sept. 29).
The accolade comes after Monson totaled a team-high 20 digs and a game-high three aces in her Irish debut, a season-opening road sweep at Louisville last Friday (Sept. 25).
The Lisle, Illinois, native was named a PrepVolleyball.com First Team All-American and Under Armour Second Team All-American as a high school senior in 2019. Monsoon was also named to the 2020 U.S. Women’s Junior National Training Team

The Irish (1-0, 1-0 ACC) return to action at home this weekend (Oct. 2-3) with a pair of matches against Syracuse. The Irish and Orange will meet at 7 p.m. ET on Friday before closing the weekend with a 6 p.m. contest on Saturday. Both matches will be streamed live via ACC Network Extra.
