June 25, 2014

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Following the Notre Dame women’s tennis team’s first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Irish players graduate student Jennifer Kellner and sophomore Quinn Gleason have been named to the 2014 All-ACC Academic Women’s Tennis Team.

To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career. Fourteen ACC schools are represented on this year’s All-ACC Academic Team, led by Clemson and Miami with three honorees apiece. Seven institutions (Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech) had two representatives, while Duke, North Carolina, NC State, Pitt and Wake Forest had one each.

Kellner graduated early in December with a degree in marketing from the Mendoza College of Business. In the spring, she began the Masters of Science in Accountancy program in Mendoza while serving as captain as the 2013-14 team and playing at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles.

Gleason is a film, television & theatre major in the College of Arts & Letters. She spent the season playing No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles and advanced to the second rounds of both the NCAA Singles Championship and NCAA Doubles Championship.
