Tony Jones joined the Notre Dame athletics communications office in July of 2012 as a athletics communications assistant.

Jones arrived at Notre Dame after serving as a media relations intern at the University of Louisiana-Monroe from August 2011 until May 2012. During that time, he was the media relations contact for the 2012 Sun Belt Conference champion ULM baseball team.

Before heading South, Jones worked with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills in the summer of 2010 as a New Media intern. He was also a sports information intern at St. Bonaventure University from November 2009 until May 2011.

Jones got his start in the sports information industry as the media relations manager of the Jamestown Jammers, a Single-A baseball affiliate of the Miami Marlins, for two seasons. During his tenure with the team, the Jammers reached the 2008 New York-Penn League Championship series.

Jones received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and mass communication from St. Bonaventure University in 2011. Raised in Jamestown, N.Y., he currently resides in Mishawaka, Ind., and enjoys playing golf, reading, writing and watching sports in his free time.
