Student-Athletes Go Back To School
Irish athletes visit Kindergarten.

Dec. 19, 2001

This semester several Notre Dame student-athletes went back to school – kindergarten to be exact. Only, this time they went back to help – with reading books, completing worksheets, and encouraging the young students as they begin their educational journey. Senior Liz Grow (Women’s Track), Katie Besson (Rowing), Adam Urra (Cheerleading – Leprechaun) and juniors Patrick Ryan (Football) and Chris Yura (Football) visited the classroom of Ms. Stockdale at James Madison Elementary in downtown South Bend weekly on Wednesday mornings. Freshmen Brandon Hoyte (Football) made his mark by visiting in the early afternoon on Wednesdays to work with the afternoon class.
