The Foundation provides scholarships for financially-challenged Indianapolis Public School students to pursue degrees in higher education, sponsors instructional/leadership camps for student-athletes, creates tutorial sessions for student-athletes and provides mentoring and leadership for selected youth.

Toran was a four-year starter at cornerback for the Irish from 1980-83 and was a co-captain as a senior in ’83. He played for the Raiders from 1984-88. He died Aug. 5, 1989, in an automobile accident in the Los Angeles area.
