A dozen Notre Dame women will take part in exhibition sparring.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – A dozen Notre Dame women will take part in exhibition sparring on Feb. 23 and 26 as part of the quarterfinals and semifinals of the University’s annual Bengal Bouts boxing tournament that has been held since 1931.

The Notre Dame women’s boxing club began in 1997 and this year features 110 members who trained throughout January and February. This marks the first year the women have taken the ring as part of the Bouts. The women’s sparring will be held at the start of both the quarterfinal and semifinal programs.

The women’s club provided its own $10,000 contribution to the Bangladesh Missions last year and has provided support assistance for the Bengal Bouts the past five years.

Here are the women’s pairings for the two-round, unscored matchups:

March 23 quarterfinals —
