OKLAHOMA CITY – USA Softball announced the Top 25 Finalists for the 2022 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year this afternoon. The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award recognizes outstanding athletic achievement by Division I female collegiate softball players from across the country.
Gaskins is one of 15 position players to be named to a Top 25 Finalist. She’s one of five from the Atlantic Coast Conference, joining Valerie Cagle of Clemson, Jameson Kavel of Duke, Kathryn Sandercock of Florida State and Keely Rochard of Virginia Tech.
This season, Gaskins is hitting for a .450 average (50-for-111) to lead the ACC. She’s recorded an on-base percentage of .575, having drawn 33 walks on the season. She’s hit 10 home runs and leads the ACC with 49 RBI on the season. She’s earned a season-long 13-game hit streak, and is currently on an eight-game hit streak.
