Garrick Sherman Set To Participate In 2014 Reese's Division I College All-Star Game

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – University of Notre Dame senior center Garrick Sherman (Kenton, Ohio) will play for the West squad in the 2014 Reese’s Division I All-Star Game that will be played on Friday evening, April 4 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, site of this year’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four. The game is sponsored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and is part of the festivities during this year’s Final Four championship weekend.

There will be two 11-man All-Stars rosters, representing an East and West squad. The contest will tip off at 4:30 pm (CDT). The game will be telecast on a tape delay on Saturday, April 5 from noon-2:00 pm (EDT) on CBS.

Johnny Dawkins of Stanford University will coach the West All-Stars while University of Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon will be on the sidelines guiding the East All-Stars.

Joining Sherman on the West roster will be: Davion Berry (Weber State), Joe Jackson (Memphis), Neil Watson (Southern Mississippi), Drew Crawford (Northwestern), Jaye Crockett (Texas Tech), Cameron Clark (Oklahoma), Cory Jefferson (Baylor), Shawn Jones (Middle Tennessee), Sam Dover, Jr. (Gonzaga) and Christian Standhardinger (Hawaii).

Members of the East squad include: Markel Starks (Georgetown), Langston Hall (Mercer), Karvel Anderson (Robert Morris), Pendarvis Williams (Norfolk State), Dwayne Evans (Saint Louis), Will Sheehey (Indiana), Juvonte Reddic (VCU), Jerrelle Benimon (Towson), Halil Kanacevic (Saint Joseph’s) and Talib Zanna (Pittsburgh).

Sherman is the second Notre Dame men’s basketball player in as many seasons to play this senior all-star game. In April 2013, Jack Cooley participated in the contest in Atlanta, Ga.
