SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Fighting Irish are back at home to take on the Central Michigan Chippewas. First draw is set for 3:00 p.m. at Loftus Arena on the Notre Dame campus. The game will be streamed on ACCNX and live stats will be available.

FOR STARTERS

  • The No. 14 Irish are back at home to take on Central Michigan at Arlotta Stadium.

  • The Irish and Chippewas are meeting on Sunday for the third time.
  • In their last meeting, the Irish took a dominant win 24-5 over the Chippewas.
  • Madison Ahern netted a career high of six goals in the contest.
  • In the last outing 13 players tallied points in the 24-5 win over Central Michigan.
  • Notre Dame kept Central Michigan off the board until 12:04 in the fourth quarter, and scored 25 goals which ranks second for most goals scored at a home game.

BALANCED ATTACK

  • The Irish return 3 of the 4 top scorers from the 2022 season in Kasey Choma, Madison Ahern, Jackie Wolak.
  • The top scorers were assisted by Kelly Denes who won 100 draw controls and tallied 14 goals of her own.
  • Choma, Ahern, and Wolak lead the Irish in points, combining for 27 points.

THREE HEADED MONSTER

  • The attacking trio of Choma, Ahern, and Wolak are combining for 27 points.
  • Choma leads the Irish with nine goals, Wolak has five goals and five assists, and Ahern has five goals and three assists.
  • Wolak leads the team in points with 10. Her outing against Northwestern (02/16/23) gave her  the seventh time in her career with three or more assists.
  • Choma matched her career high for goals with six against the Wildcats (02/16/23).

AHERN ON ATTACK

  • Madison Ahern is second on the Irish squad entering the 2023  season with 57 goals. 
  • She notched her 100th career point against the Virginia Cavaliers in a 12-10 Irish win in the 2022 campaign.
  • Ahern tied her career high with six goals against #3 Syracuse on February 26, 2022.
  • She has tied her career high two times against Syracuse, and Jacksonville in 2022.

CALLAHAN IN THE CREASE

  • Callahan made her first double-digit save performance of her career, finishing with 15 saves against Northwestern. This also established a new career high in saves for her.
  • Lilly Callahan earned her first career win in her first career start while holding the San Diego State attack to just two goals .
  • The two goals Callahan allowed marked the lowest scoring output in SDSU program history, which dates back to the 2012 season.
