THE NOTRE DAME – DETROIT MERCY SERIES
- The Irish and Titans will be meeting for the fourth time on Tuesday with Notre Dame holding the advantage 3-0.
- Notre Dame and Detroit Mercy last met in 2017 with the Irish capturing a dominating win, 24-9.
- In its last three victories against Detroit Mercy, the Irish have outscored the Titans, 63-15.
DEEHAN DIALED IN
- Deehan established a new career-high for the second time this season on April 2, 2022 with 19 saves against #1 North Carolina.
- Deehan earned a new career-high against Virginia on March 6, 2022 with 16 saves in the Irish 12-10 victory.
- She was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week on March 8, 2022.
- Deehan enters the 2022 season as the ACC’s leader in saves per game (9.28) and notched double-digit saves in eight outings last season.
- Deehan earned four weekly honors (ACC DPOTW and IWLCA DPOTW) in the 2021 season on March 30, April 13, and April 27. In the 13-9 victory at Duke (March 28, 2021), Deehan made 12 saves and collected a career high six ground balls en route to being named the IWLCA and ACC Defensive Player of the Week on March 30.
- Deehan has notched double-digit saves on eight occasions in the 2021 season, including a trio of 14-save outings against top-10 opponents: at #2 Syracuse (March 14), at #7 Virginia (April 3) and vs. #1 North Carolina (April 10).
- Deehan returns to action as a preseason All-American Honorable Mention, Preseason All-ACC and two time Irish captain.
ALL-AMERICAN GIRLS
- Madison Ahern and Kasey Choma were named midseason All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse/IL Women on March 31, 2022.
- Five Irish were named Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-Americans including Kasey Choma (Second Team), Madison Ahern (HM), Maddie Howe (HM), Jackie Wolak (HM), and Bridget Deehan (HM).
- Kasey Choma was named to the USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-American squad, and was also ranked among the top 50 lacrosse players in college checking in at #34.
- Choma and Ahern were both named to the USA Super Sixes roster for the 2022 World Games on March 30.
DAUGHTERS FOR DADS/COMMUNITY SERVICE
- Notre Dame Women’s Lacrosse annually dedicates a portion of their season to raise awareness and funding for the Harper Cancer Research Institute through their Daughters for Dads (D4D) campaign.
- The program just finished its eighth annual D4D campaign and its fundraising efforts including a virtual 5K.
- The April 5 contest against Detroit Mercy will also host the Game Hair Havoc fundraising efforts.
- The Irish also joined forces with Virginia for a “One Love Game” in Charlottesville on April 3, 2021 to raise awareness for the One Love Foundation.
- Last year, for their contest vs. Robert Morris on March 6, the Irish participated in “Game Hair Havoc” and helped raise over $3,700 for the HeadSTRONG Foundation and families affected by cancer.
TOP FIVE SCHEDULE
- The Fighting Irish have already played six top-25 opponents in the 2022 season and will play two more in the regular season.
