Galajda Named Big Ten’s Second Star of the Week

SOUTH BEND, Ind.  – For the second consecutive week, graduate student Matthew Galajda has been named Big Ten Hockey’s Second Star of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday (March 1).

The goaltender helped the Irish to a 2-0-0 sweep of second-ranked Michigan as Notre Dame improved to 4-0-0 versus the Wolverines this season as the only team to sweep Michigan this season.

Galajda stopped 59 of the 61 shots he faced over the weekend for a .967 save percentage and he had a 1.00 goals against average as Notre Dame took game one, 4-1, and followed with a 2-1 win in game two.
