This is the sixth in a series that spotlights the 10 freshmen on Notre Dame’s 2004-05 roster. This edition features distance freestyler Rob Seery, who at the midseason point ranks fourth on the Irish – and seventh in the BIG EAST Conference – in both the 1,000-yard freestyle (season-best 9:42.44) and the 1,650 free (16:08.11). He also has a BIG EAST “A” cut in the 500 free (4:37.95) and has posted “B” cuts in the 100 free (47.63) and 200 free (1:44.49).

What made you stick with swimming over the years – I started swimming in 10th grade, and I was pretty good at it, so I stuck to it.
