How do I get there?
You will find this information on our Directions page.

Do we have to pay for parking?
Yes, for weekday parking 6:00 am – 4:00 pm. Weekend and evening parking is free. Please visit the Notre Dame parking website for all of the information.

Can anyone come to your public skate?
Yes! Our public skate is open to members of our community, as well as students, faculty, and staff. For more information go to Public Skating.

Will there be public skate during ND Hockey games?
At this time, we are not offering public skates opposite ND hockey games.

My child has some special needs. Will he/she be able to participate in events at CFIA?
At the CFIA, we believe on-ice events should be available to as many people as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your child’s needs. Please contact us by email ndcfia@nd.edu or call (574) 631-1166 prior to your visit.

What does it mean to become a “member” of the Compton Family Ice Arena?
Becoming a member is completely free. After you fill out the registration form, you will be placed in our system and will be notified of special events and CFIA news if you wish. You must become a member to participate in on-ice activities.

I am only going to be in town for the weekend. Do I still have to register to become a member?
Yes. Every person who participates in an on-ice activity must be a member. This ensures that every person who uses the ice is aware of their responsibility for keeping themselves and others safe. This also ensures that you have signed our Compton Family Ice Arena waiver.

I am interested in playing hockey. How do I register?

I am interested in figure skating. How should I register?
Check out our Figure Skating tab. If you have more questions, contact Molly Mahoney.

I cannot skate. Can I learn?
Of course! Anyone of any age can learn or relearn how to skate. Check out our Learn to Skate program. It offers people a chance to get on the ice with a certified instructor and learn the proper techniques to become a competent ice skater.

How can I purchase tickets to events at CFIA?
To purchase tickets, go to the Notre Dame Ticket Office website, which can be found here.

I am interested in private lessons, who do I reach out to?
Private lessons are open to any and all participants, but is subject to ice and instructor availability. Please email NDCFIA@nd.edu.
